More than 400 enterprises are engaged in the meat, fish and milk processing industry in Lithuania. 35% of production is exported (50% are dairy products), and exports grow about 30-35% annually.

The dairy sector is particularly strong as the majority of Lithuanian producers comply with EU standards. Lithuania is one of the leading foreign suppliers of cheese to the USA. Lithuanian dairy production manufacturers export more than 50% of dairy production, of which almost 70% goes to the EU.
