ICT. Lithuania's ICT sector is one of the most attractive sectors of the country's economy. The fast development of information technologies and telecommunications relies on the overall rapid economic development of the country for the last decade, which has given an increasing appetite for household consumption, as well as on the implementation of projects related to IT infrastructure development using assistance from the EU Structural Funds.

Lithuania is the largest ICT industry in the Baltic States. 13 out of the 20 largest IT services companies in the Baltic States are based in Lithuania. There are more than 37,000 qualified IT specialists working in 2,000 IT companies (78% are small) in Lithuania. 

Biotech. Lithuania is the biotech hub of Central and East European countries. Export exceeding 80% of production to over 70 countries worldwide. Global markets, including sectors where life sciences and biotechnology constitute a major portion, could amount to over EUR 2,000 billion by the end of this decade, as to the European Commission.
